Local plants grow better . . . .

The Australian Alpine Nursery at high altitude and Our Native Garden Nursery at Tawonga are dedicated to local native vegetation. Our harsh and drought-prone environment calls for plants that have stood the test of time. This is why indigenous or local ones are the best.

Gun trees need the understorey of grasses, shrubs and ground covers to attract the insects, birds, animals and other creatures that keep the whole ecosystem healthy and resistant to weed invasion.

We supply north-east Victoria with a garden development and maintenance service and advice on:

  • enhancing and developing existing native plants : don't waste what is there!
  • replacing or minimising weeds with native plants
  • minimal or no-mow lawn development by replacing with low-grow native grasses and ground covers
  • keeping the soil in steep places and out of waterways

Our plants are:

  • Sourced and grown locally
  • In pots with root trainers for denser and stronger root deveopment
  • In a range of containers designed for difficult revegetation situations
  • Available in large quantities
  • Available in advanced sizes
  • Price discounted for large quantities and advanced ordering
  • In square pots to prevent 'planting-out shock' caused by root disturbance and removal when roots have coiled around the base of a round pot

So don't tickle their roots because they don't need it!.... They are already giggling at the frost.

PRICE is from $4.00 per pot. Discount for Landcare and similar club/organisation members; house-lot; bulk buy. Phone Jill 0418 579 331.

Pot size is 70mm sq x 107mm high and weighs approx 250gm
